Gong Hyo-jin decided to take part in the movie “Aging Family” because she can curse as much as she wants, she said at a press conference yesterday.

“The role requires constant cursing and violence,” she said.

“I felt some sort of catharsis when cursing. When would an actress get a chance to do such a thing?”

In the movie based on a novel of the same title, author Chun Myeong-gwan depicts a family of two sons and a daughter.

Mi-yeon, played by Gong, is the youngest at 35.

Two brothers in their 40s and Mi-yeon live with their mother under one roof and struggle in the movie.

Park Hae-il of movie “Eungyo” (2012) and Yoon Je-moon of TV drama “The King 2 Hearts” (2012) play the brothers. The movie will be released in local theaters next month.
