Volvo Group breaks ground for test, development center

Volvo Group Korea, one of the nation’s leading construction equipment manufacturers, held a ground breaking yesterday for a new testing and development center in Hapcheon, South Gyeongsang. Construction is expected to completed by March 2014.

The center will be built on a 272,972 square meters (67.5 acres) of land and include eight facilities for equipment inspection and testing. There will be customer evaluation center where customers can see new products and take test drives.

The company said the new testing center will enhance the quality of its products as well as the competitiveness of its excavator development business.

Volvo Group Korea said a total of 18 billion won ($15.8 million) will be invested for the center. This follows another major investment from the company, which put 15 billion won into a building at the R&D center in its Changwon, South Gyeongsang, plant.
