Incheon, Gimpo land more world’s best airport awards
Incheon International Airport was named the world’s best airport for the eighth straight year during the 2013 Airport Service Quality Awards yesterday in Istanbul. The awards are sponsored by Airports Council International.According to Incheon International Airport Corporation, Korea’s main gateway had the highest score among 1,700 airports worldwide.
It was first among in the Asia-Pacific region and also among airports with over 40 million passengers a year.
Until last year, the award had the title of “Best Airport Worldwide,” but this year the council decided not to award that title in consideration of other airports.
Meanwhile, Gimpo International Airport ranked highest among all airports with annual passenger traffic between 15 million and 25 million for the third straight year.
