Samsung C&T consortium gets $1.4 billion Qatar order
Samsung C&T, the construction unit of Samsung Group, said yesterday it has secured a $700 million contract to build two railway stations in Qatar.The company said its consortium, which involves Obrascon Huarte Lain, a Spanish builder, and Qatar Building Company, won a total of $1.4 billion in orders from Qatar Rail to build railway stations in Doha. Samsung C&T holds 50 percent of the project.
The consortium will build two large transfer stations in Musheireb, downtown Doha, and Education City. They are expected to be completed in June 2018.
