Former contestants of the SBS survival audition program “K-Pop Star” gathered to record a theme song for the upcoming third season.

About 20 of them sang the original theme song “One Dream,” previously recorded by singer BoA, who is one of the three judges in the show.

Singers Lee Hi, Andrew Choi and Park Ji-min, who have already made debuts as professional singers, joined others who are preparing to make a debut, including Akdong Musician, the winner of the show’s second season.

“It is greatly meaningful that people who were just audition participants one or two years ago sang the song together after they have started to build a professional career in singing,” said the show’s production team.

“It is worth waiting for as it will deliver a different charm from the one sung by BoA.”

Former contestants have said that the song they recorded gives some encouragement to the future contestants of the show. The song was released with a video that documented the recording of the song on Friday.

Primary auditions for the third season will start on Aug. 17 in Busan. The production team also plans to travel to overseas cities, including Los Angeles and Chicago, to find some undiscovered talent.
