Ratings lead to Thailand trip

Cast members and crew of the SBS drama “I Hear Your Voice” will travel to Phuket, Thailand, to celebrate the end of the popular drama.

The weekday drama was originally scheduled for a 16-episode run, but when SBS executives ordered two more episodes, scriptwriter Park Hye-ryeon offered to use her additional payments to take everyone on a trip.

“Before filming started, we talked about taking a trip together if the viewership rate went over 15 percent,” said one official at SBS to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily. “As ratings went way over 20 percent, everyone can happily enjoy the vacation.”

Actor Lee Jong-suk, who played one of the lead characters, will not be able to join the trip due to other engagements.
