‘Our Neighborhood’ heading to Japan

Although Korean dramas have grown very popular in Japan and around Asia, it is unusual for entertainment shows to be exported because the culture barrier is higher with comedies.
Other entertainment shows that have been exported, such as MBC’s “I’m a Singer” and Mnet’s “Superstar K” series, have typically been exported a year after their initial airdate.
In addition, “Our Neighborhood Arts” isn’t even finished yet, as only 20 episodes have aired, but the Japanese buyer has purchased 24.
One big reason for the extra interest in the show - the presence of TVXQ’s Max Changmin.
“There have been many requests from many broadcasting companies in Japan since the start of the show, and it looks like Changmin has a lot to do with it” said one industry official, according to local media reports.
