Sunmi

After more than three years out of the K-pop spotlight, Sunmi, former member of the Wonder Girls, comes back today.

She’s been teasing her return for several weeks and yesterday posted a handwritten letter to her fans on her official fan cafe.

“I’m writing this to show my gratitude to the fans who have trusted me and waited for me over the past three years and seven months,” she said.

“I’m sure you must have been surprised with the sudden news of my return, but my heart is bouncing as I’m excited to see you for the first time in a very long time.”

Sunmi left the Wonder Girls in 2010, citing her desire to continue her studies.

In her letter, the 21-year-old singer said she was taking nothing for granted about her comeback.

“I have a lot to show, a lot to talk about, but I’m going to take the time to show you one by one, as we now have a lot of time to meet,” she wrote in her letter.

“I’ll prove that my three years and seven months away was not meaningless to me or to my fans.”

Sunmi’s big comeback performance airs today on “M Countdown,” a music show on cable channel Mnet today.
