Entertainers support Kara

With K-pop group Kara suddenly coming under widespread online criticism for the behavior of its members, many in the local entertainment industry are sticking up for the popular girl group and calling the criticism unfair.

The biggest event causing criticism was their appearance on the MBC talk show “Radio Star” on Wednesday, where two members cried after being asked several uncomfortable questions.

Goo Ha-ra was asked about rumors concerning her romantic relationships, having been linked to Yong Jun-hyung from the boy group Beast and actor Lee Soo-hyuk. Kang Ji-young was continually asked to act cute.

After the show was aired, the members were blamed for responding unprofessionally.

But one of the program’s hosts, singer Yoon Jong-shin, defended the group.

“Not everyone can give out witty responses when asked some questions,” wrote Yoon on his Facebook. “It is my fault, as I was the most frivolous one, and I’m sorry.”

A writer for the show also asked netizens to stop bad-mouthing the group.

“I’m very grateful that they did their best to make the show fun, even after there were some emotional moments,” said writer Kim Tae-hee.
