Hyomin rejects red carpet

Hyomin of girl group T-ara decided not to take part in the Tokyo International Film Festival, according to her agency Core Contents Media yesterday.
She was going to appear for the red carpet event as the movie "Jinx!!!," in which she took the leading role, has been invited to be presented at the 26th edition of the festival, which runs from Oct. 17 to Oct. 25.
Instead of walking down the red carpet, she will instead perform onstage as a member of T-ara on the Oct. 17 episode of cable channel Mnet's music program "M Countdown."
"We have decided that it is more important for her to focus on music programs and show great performances on stage," said the agency. "Hyomin said she is sorry and she wants to take part in other movie promotions."
The girl group is set to return to the local music scene on Oct. 10.
