Kang not returning to show
Rumors that Kang Ho-dong, the original star of KBS’s “1 Night, 2 Days,” would return to his once-popular show suddenly swept the media and online message boards early yesterday, but they turned out to be groundless.One local media reported that Kang, along with entertainer Eun Ji-won, was considering a return, as KBS is known to be re-working the show, unhappy with the latest version that relaunched last year.
The show once scored ratings in the 40s soon after it launched in 2007, but the hosts were changed last year and ratings have declined significantly since.
The rumors gained traction yesterday as neither Kang nor Eun are currently taking part in any of the Sunday entertainment shows, and until recently they both starred in SBS’s “Barefoot Friends.”
However, officials close with Kang denied the rumors, reiterating that Kang has received no offers from KBS and does not plan to rejoin the program.
Other reports have said that Minho of the boy group SHINee and singer John Park are being considered for the show.
