KTSAT joins in typhoon relief

KTSAT, the KT affiliate specializing in satellite solutions, has joined the nation’s relief efforts in the typhoon-devastated Philippines.

The affiliate and parent company donated $100,000 each to the Korean Red Cross.

KTSAT has taken a step further to provide assistance by erecting an emergency telecommunication network in the hardest hit areas.

“We hope the people in the Philippines will overcome the difficult situation and, through our contribution and donation, find hope,” said KTSAT CEO Yung Kim.

The company in 2011 set up an emergency networking system for rescue agents through its satellite service solution in Japan after the eastern shores of the county was wrecked by an earthquake.
