Shinhwa TV comes to end

Cable channel JTBC has decided to cancel “Shinhwa Broadcast,” an entertainment program featuring members of the idol group Shinhwa.

After airing for two years, the final episode of the program will run on Jan. 19, an official representing the group yesterday told to local media.

The cancellation of the program came after several members of the six-man group announced they could not continue to participate in it.

Kim Dong-wan had already left the show after the first season, saying he wanted to focus on developing his career as an actor.

The rest of the group kept “Shinhwa Broadcast” going for a second season, which started in November, but then Andy also decided to walk away in the aftermath of accusations that he had participated in illegal gambling.

The remaining four members continued, but they decided it was too much of a burden; and besides, just four members isn’t really Shinhwa.

Still, the Shinhwa members promised to do their best on the program until the second season ends.
