STX Heavy Industries secures $100 million Iraq contract

STX Heavy Industries said yesterday it secured a $100 million contract for construction of a gas treatment facility in Iraq after signing a deal with Petronas Carigali Iraq Holding BV on Monday.

The company will be responsible for building a gas treatment facility that will be used to transport gas from Garraf Oil Field to nearby power plants.

The construction is expected to be completed by November 2015.

The affiliate of STX Group said that it is landing successfully in Iraq with a series of orders.

The company on Jan. 3 won a 500 billion won ($470 million) pipeline project, and last month secured a 43 billion won deal for the installation of desulfurization equipment in a power plant.
