YG Entertainment has announced plans for a busy year, including new albums by Big Bang, 2NE1 and Psy.
“The year of 2014 is very important for the YG family,” said Yang Hyun-suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, in a press conference held after Big Bang’s concert on Sunday at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in southeast Seoul.
“Big Bang will release their third full-length album and 2NE1 will embark on their second world tour this year, a first for a girl group,” Yang said.
Yang also reiterated plans to introduce two new groups. The new boy band, Winner, who won a reality show held by YG Entertainment last fall, should have their album come out in late February. Yang also promised to release a new girl group, although they are still unnamed and there’s no date attached to its debut.
“It is not a shift of generations,” said Yang. “Through these rookies, YG expects to expand its spectrum.”
