ZE:A member joins ‘Palace’

K-pop singer Kim Dong-jun, a member of the nine-man group ZE:A, has been cast as the lead in the Korean musical “Palace.” He left for Japan yesterday, where a press conference for the show will be held, according to local media.

“I am honored to be part of the popular musical ‘Palace.’ By playing Shin [the lead role] I hope that I can show a new side of me to the fans and, in order to achieve that, I am trying my best at singing and acting,” said the 22-year-old singer before departing for Japan.

In addition, the musical’s production team explained how Kim’s talent in singing and acting, as well as his charisma, shown on entertainment programs on TV, prove he is a good, versatile choice for the musical.

“We were even more satisfied when we saw Kim rehearse for the musical,” one producer added.

“Palace,” which is based on a popular Korean comic series, has been performed every year for the past five years in Japan. The latest version with Kim will run from May 10 to 24 at the Tokyo Akasaka Act Theater.
