Communications commission joins fight against false adsThe Korea Communications Commission (KCC) said yesterday it will join the mobile communications industry in eradicating false advertisements in sales of mobile phones.
The commission signed an agreement promising a joint response to false advertisements for sales of mobile phones at an event at El Tower in Seocho, southern Seoul with six mobile carriers, the Korea Mobile Virtual Network Operators and the Korea Association for ICT Promotion.
They agreed to respond to false and exaggerated advertisements together and to cut back on ads that often deceive consumers with free mobile phone promotions.
The KAIP will start monitoring and reporting false ads on May 1.
