Hyundai releases new, small elevator with foot buttons
Hyundai Elevator, the nation’s top elevator manufacturer under Hyundai Group, yesterday unveiled an elevator that requires the smallest amount of space for its moving path and pit in Korea.Named “New Yzer,” the elevator is a machine room-less elevators (MRL), which helps builders reduce construction costs and time while improving their use of space, the company said.
The nine-person elevator will take up 5 percent less space than competing models because it doesn’t have a machine room and has a small pit, the company said.
Hyundai Elevator said that its product has a “touchless foot button,” which allows a person carrying packages or a disabled person to use the elevator with foot movements.
