Dae-sung tops Japanese chart

Dae-sung

Dae-sung of K-pop boy band Big Bang topped the Japanese iTunes chart yesterday with his solo album “Rainy Rainy.” The tracks from his latest album are also doing well in local music charts.

The album was released yesterday, to mark his upcoming solo arena tour “D-LITE DLive Tour 2014 in Japan,” which will stop in Yokohama, Kobe, Osaka and Tokyo.

Dae-sung, who uses D-Lite as his Japanese stage name, composed and wrote the lead-off single “Rainy Rainy.” His achievement in Japan is quite remarkable, since it is rare for an idol group member to launch an arena tour as a solo artist, apart from his group.

As Big Bang debuted in Japan by the 2008 EP “For the World,” after two years from their Korean debut, the five-member band (comprised of G-Dragon, Tae-yang, Seung-ri, T.O.P. and Dae-sung) has had active promotion in Japan over the time.
