Kang’s baby born after decade of IVF
Published: 11 Jun. 2014, 20:03
Kang Won-rae, from the hit 1990s dance duo Clon, finally became a father yesterday. The news of his newborn son drew huge attention from local media because the couple went through artificial insemination about eight times over a decade to have a baby. Kang was left paralyzed from the waist down after being hit by a car in November 2000.
Local media noted that his wife, Kim Song, was doing well after delivering the 3.95-kilogram (8.7-pound) baby at a hospital in southern Seoul.
“I am so happy that I finally became a father!” said Kang Won-rae to local media, adding that his wife is “in good spirits.”
Fans offered their deepest congratulations on the baby’s arrival.
In February, Kang and Kim featured their pregnancy experience on the KBS reality show “Please Look After Mom.”
