Copycat issues dog SBS drama trailerAfter scores of accusations were posted online, a production company working on the upcoming SBS drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love” admitted it plagiarized the work of New York-based video artist Celia Rowlson-Hall for a 30-second trailer released on Wednesday.
The drama’s production studio GT Entertainment apologized through a press release yesterday, stating, “As we searched for the right images to convey the drama’s concept, we referenced a lot of video clips.”
The studio added that the core message of the series is about healing one another’s emotional wounds through love and respect.
The trailer was deleted from the website immediately, and local drama fans showed disappointment since plagiarism has been prevalent in the drama scene for decades.
Starring actor Zo In-sung, Kong Hyo-jin and D.O. of K-pop boy band Exo, the first episode of “It’s Okay, It’s Love” will air on July 23.
