Daelim’s thermal power plant to commence operations

Daelim Group said yesterday that its combined-cycle thermal power plant in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, will commence commercial operations today. The plant will initially produce 780 megawatts of electricity and an additional 780 megawatts once a second plant is completed in August.

The nation’s 19th-largest conglomerate invested 1.2 trillion won ($1.1 billion) in the facility. The plant, which will use LNG as its main resource, is the largest combined-cycle thermal plant in the Seoul metropolitan area.
