Jung heads to LA to MC Mnet show

Singer Jung Joon-young, who rose to popularity by competing in the survival audition program “Superstar K4,” has been picked to present a special music show hosted by cable channel Mnet.

The channel, operated by CJ E&M, is bringing its show to Los Angeles for U.S. fans to see their favorite K-pop stars perform live.

The channel’s music show, “M Countdown,” will hold a two-day recording show at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena starting Aug. 9.

Many well-known K-pop stars will perform during the program, including G-Dragon, IU, Girls’ Generation, CN BLUE, VIXX and Teen Top.

The star will also perform his songs during the show. For the second concert on Aug. 10, Jung will present five songs. Jung recently released his mini-album “Teenager” in Korea and has been active on many TV programs.

“Jung has been receiving offers from overseas for some performances and interviews and he is planning to expand his working territory to the global market toward the end of this year,” said his agency, CJ E&M.
