Spam phone numbers to be available in database online

Spam phone numbers collected by KT will be disclosed at the nation’s No. 2 portal site Daum starting in September.

KT, Korea’s second-largest mobile carrier, said yesterday its customer service affiliate KTCS signed a contract with Daum Communications to create a database of spam numbers collected on its anti-spam app WhoWho.

WhoWho is the nation’s No. 1 spam protection app, which recently surpassed more than 8 million downloads and identifies an average of 1 billion phone numbers a month.

The partnership means that spam number information that could previously only be checked on the mobile app can now be viewed on the Web as well.
