Ladies’ Code driver indicted for crash

The Supreme Prosecutors’ Office has indicted the former manager of Ladies’ Code who was driving the van that killed two members of the girl group during a fatal car accident in September.

The manager, surnamed Park, hit a protective wall when he was driving the van. The vehicle was carrying seven people, including all five members.

Park was driving to Seoul from Yongin, Gyeonggi, at 1:23 a.m. on Sept. 3.

The highway was slippery due to rain, but it turned out that the manager had violated speed regulations.

Right after the car accident in September, some news outlets reported that the van was possibly defective because the manager told police that the rear tire of the vehicle had come off while he was driving.

But an official from the prosecutors’ office said the van had no technical defects.

Kwon Ri-sae, 23, and Koh Eun-bi, 22, died from the crash while the four other passengers, including two members of the band, were seriously hurt.
