Korea’s Hoeryeong ceramics, which originated in Hoeryeong in Hamhung (today’s North Korea), are known for their long history and high quality. Artisans used soil from the region, which was considered particularly rich, and added a unique glaze to produce the pottery. About 100 pieces of Hoeryeong ceramics created by artists from Korea, Japan and China are being shown at Lotte Gallery in Sogong-dong, central Seoul. The exhibition runs until Feb. 1.
