Japan Tobacco International gets global employer award

Japan Tobacco International said on Monday it was one of five companies in the world to receive Top Employer Global 2015 certification during a ceremony on Sunday, local time, held by the Top Employers Institute in Amsterdam.

“This award recognizes the high standards we set ourselves worldwide and our constant dedication to foster a diverse work environment where employees excel”, says Ilona Alonso, Global HQ Human Resources Vice President at JTI. “Recruiting the best candidates and developing employees’ skills and competencies across the organization is in JTI’s DNA. We work hard to invest in tomorrow’s leaders with a solid performance management and succession planning platform.”

David Plink, Top Employers Institute CEO, said at the ceremony that the tobacco company is a “perfect example” that shows harmonized operations.

According to the company, 800 employees are on rotating international assignments.
