Gmarket to hold spring event targeting male consumers

The social commerce company Gmarket said on Thursday that it is holding a special discount event targeted at men.

As part of its spring event, the company said it will be offering various gadgets that men may find appealing, including laptops, cameras and electric shavers at discounted prices.

Gmarket said it will exclusively sell the most popular model of the premium electric shaver Braun’s Series 9 for 389,500 won ($356).

Braun’s Series 9 is an electric shaver that comes with four blades. The 40,000 cutting strokes per minute allow a clean cut for any type of moustache or beard. The automatic cleaning function is considered one of its most popular features.

The Pantex’s XG-1 digital camera will be offered 37 percent cheaper at 299,000 won. It is the cheapest digital camera among competing models. It comes with a 52x optical zoom and can take close-up pictures as close as 1 centimeter to the subject.

Gmarket plans on offering other perks with the purchase of the digital camera worth approximately 100,000 won, including a high-end camera bag, a tripod and a memory card to the first 60 customers.

Gmarket is also selling the LG Electronics Gram 15. The laptop received enormous praise for being the lightest among 15.6-inch laptops. The laptop comes with a fifth-generation Intel Core i3 processor and an upgraded battery that last for an additional hour.

The laptop sold at Gmarket does not have an operating system but is priced at 919,000 won. The online retail price of the laptop is roughly 1.5 million won. Gmarket will provide a 32G memory card to buyers.
