Magnus will ski for Korea in 2018 Winter Olympics

Skiing prospect Kim Magnus, who has dual citizenship in Norway and Korea, has decided to represent Korea for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Gangwon, his agency said on Monday.

Under the International Olympic Committee (IOC) rule, the 16-year-old had to select his nationality this month. The IOC allows athletes with dual citizenship to compete for only one country that they have represented in the three years prior to the Olympics.

Busan-born Kim, who goes by Magnus Bøe in Norway, won the 2013 Norwegian National Championship in the cross-country sprint in his age category.
