[Sponsored Report] By the Numbers: Jeju Forum in Brief

The Jeju Forum is an international arena for discussions of multilateral cooperation and sustainable peace and prosperity in East Asia.

This year’s forum is the tenth, and will be held on May 20-22 on Jeju.

Since its inception in 2001, the forum has made a substantial impact because of its relevant topics, prominent speakers and participants and has become a major international forum.

The number of plenary sessions at the Jeju Forum 2015. Distinguished guests, including former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroder, will share their views on the theme: “Towards a New Asia of Trust and Harmony.”

The rank of the Jeju Peace Institute among Korea’s think tanks in diplomacy and security. That ranking jumped from 14th to 10th in 2015, according to a survey done by the economic weekly Hankyung Business.

The number of institutions with their own sessions at the Jeju Forum 2015. They include influential organizations and top research institutions such as the Korea Foundation, the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, the Sejong Institute and the Global Green Growth Institute.

The number of concurrent sessions at Jeju Forum 2015. They will cover a wide range of topics from trust building in Northeast Asia to the post-2015 UN development agenda. There will also be banquets, performances and networking functions.

The number of participants expected for the Jeju Forum 2015. This number has increased from 350 in 2001 to 3,700, including 300 invited speakers, in 2014. There were 57 countries represented among the participants at the 2014 forum.
