COEX Mall’s Pink Free Pass. Provided by the company

COEX Mall will hand out 3,000 charged transportation cards to celebrate the opening of the passageway that links the mall and Bongeunsa Station on line No. 9

The event will take place online and offline for two months starting from September.

COEX Mall’s first campaign is the “Pink Free Pass Give-away,” in which the mall is handing out 3,000 transportation cards containing 3,000 won ($2.50) to clients visiting the mall. Magenta-colored and stamped with the COEX Mall logo, the Pink Free Pass can be used as a regular T-money card after the provided credit is used up.

The cards can be won through games held inside COEX Mall from Sept. 3 to 9 during weekday lunch and dinner times.

The other event “Find the Pink Train!” is currently held online. One of the cars of subway line No. 9 will be decorated as the “Pink Train,” with photos of COEX shops attached to the walls.

Gift cards and free meal coupons will be randomly given out to passengers who upload photos of the car to social networking services with a particular hashtag through Sept. 24. The Pink Train will run eight times each day through Oct. 24.

Meanwhile, for two months starting from September, various events celebrating the fall season will take place around the mall. In the Big Fall Giveaway from Sept. 18 to Oct. 11, gifts, including a luxury sedan, will be handed out to randomly selected customers who buy something inside COEX Mall.

COEX Mall is also hosting a number of festivals, including the 45th Korea Crafts Competition, Korea-Japan Festival, Korea International Art Fair, Seoul Toy & Game Show, Seoul International Book Fair and the Flower Art Show.

COEX will be the central venue for Gangnam Festival as well. This event, running from Oct. 1 to 4, will include interesting content like the Fashion Festival, K-pop Festival and Gangnam Grand Sale.

“The passageway will make it easier for visitors from southwest and southeast areas of Seoul to reach the mall,” said a spokesman for COEX. “As the number of visitors is expected to rise, we will continue planning various events to make their shopping experience more fun and exciting.”
