Big Bang to focus on new album over TV

테스트

Bad news for Big Bang fans. The five-member K-pop boy group won’t participate in any of the year-end music festivals held by the three major broadcasters - KBS, MBC and SBS.

A representative from YG Entertainment, which represents Big Bang, told OSEN on Wednesday that Big Bang will focus on producing their upcoming album instead of appearing in TV music festivals. The representative also added that Big Bang is preparing to go on worldwide concert tours in the near future.

“Big Bang feels sorry for its fans for not participating in year-end music festivals. But they chose to work on the production of their next regular album. They even work on weekends,” the person from YG told OSEN.

Major broadcasters hold music festivals in late December to honor the best musical acts of the year.

Big Bang had planned to bring out the new album Sept. 1, but the group delayed the release to take a break and also work on the album more.

Although Big Bang won’t participate in the TV music festivals, the K-pop act has already received numerous awards this year.

Big Bang received four awards for Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Music Video and Worldwide Favorite Artist at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards earlier this month.

They also won another four awards from the Melon Music Awards held in November. The group nabbed Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, a Top 10 award and a Netizen Choice Award.
