Lee Hwi-jae honored at awards

Comedian Lee Hwi-jae received the highest honor from the 2015 KBS Entertainment Awards held on Saturday.

Lee was nominated for the grand prize, along with comedians Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Gyeong-gu, Kang Ho-dong, Shin Dong-yup and actor Cha Tae-hyun.

It was the first grand prize the 43-year-old comedian has received in his 23-year career.

“I think I’m getting this award on behalf of all the children [who appear on ‘The Return of the Superman’].”

Lee is a regular guest of the reality TV show “The Return of the Superman,” in which celebrity fathers take care of their children for 48 hours without their spouses.

Other participants in the reality show, including actor Song Il-gook and his triplets and martial arts expert Choo Sung-hoon, also received awards.

Of the many reality TV shows, “Two Days, One Night” was voted the best TV show of the year.

Ryewook, a member of the K-pop boy group Super Junior, received the award for Best DJ for his radio show “Kiss the Radio.”
