SK offers new video data plan for sports fans

SK Telecom said Friday that it will allow its customers who signed up for the Band Play Package plan to use 2 gigabytes of data a day, up from 1 gigabyte.

The plan is specifically for those who watch videos frequently on their smartphones, and the company said its customers are now able to watch baseball games for four hours without having to worry about data usage limits. Additionally, only half of the total data usage will be counted when customers use it between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The price for the plan varies from 5,000 won ($4.35) to 8,000 won a month, depending on customers’ main data plans. Subscribers can enjoy about 90 live streaming television channels and other video content such as newly released films.

SK Telecom introduced the data plan two months ago, and about 400,000 customers now use it.
