KT conference explores ways start-ups can enter China

KT, the country’s second-largest mobile services carrier, discussed China’s latest technology trends and ways for Korean start-ups to enter the China market on Tuesday at a conference held at the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Gyeonggi.

The telecom company invited China Mobile IoT (CMIoT), an affiliate of Chinese telecom giant China Mobile, to the forum. KT explored the market for Internet of Things (IoT) and smaller connected devices in China, as well as business opportunities.

It noted that China’s IoT market will expand an average of 32 percent by 2020. The conference is part of KT’s alliance with China’s telecom player.

KT announced last year that it signed a memorandum of understanding with CMIoT to jointly develop IoT devices and platforms.
