Violence charge for DJ DOC’s Kim Chang-ryul

테스트

Kim Chang-ryul, a member of the first-generation Korean hip-hop group DJ DOC, has been charged without detention for inflicting violence against Kim Tae-hyun, a former member of the K-pop boy group Wonder Boyz, according to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old, however, has been cleared of embezzlement and tax evasion charges, which were also filed by the alleged victim and two other members of the group, which used to belong to the entertainment company Ent102, which Kim ran as CEO. Kim has been cleared of such accusations due to lack of evidence.

Three members of Wonder Boyz filed charges against their former talent agency CEO over alleged embezzlement, tax evasion and violence. According to them, their former boss slapped the victim several times in 2013 while having a meal at a restaurant in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.

The members also filed charges against Kim for unfairly using the Wonder Boyz members’ income without their permission.

Regarding the allegation of violence, the suspect is firmly denying the charge, claiming that he will set the story straight in court.

Wonder Boyz debuted in 2012 under the guidance of DJ DOC. The four-member group, however, did not take off. The group has halted its activities since three of the members, including victim Kim, left the group.
