Lee Jin-wook’s accuser may face charge
Suseo Police Precinct announced on Monday that the woman who accused actor Lee Jin-wook of rape will likely be charged with making a false accusation.“As it has been reported in several local media outlets, we are monitoring the false accusation charge of the woman [who filed against Lee for rape],” said the police at a press conference.
The alleged victim filed against the actor on July 14 over the allegation of sexual assault. Lee countersued two days later, claiming their sexual encounter was consensual.
Meanwhile, the woman’s attorney resigned on Saturday, citing “trust issues.”
“[I resigned] after finding out new evidence and realizing that we have different opinions on how to respond to the investigation, which eventually resulted in our trust issues.”
Lee and the woman both visited the police for questioning and are currently awaiting the results of the investigation.
