Rapper Yezi teases new music

Yezi from girl group Fiestar will make a solo return on Sept 8, according to her agency, Fave Entertainment on Thursday.

A teaser image announcing the news was released through Yezi’s official Facebook page. The image, where “2016. 09. 08 00:00AM” is written, features a mysterious woman in a body of water. The image also says “Yezi X WHO,” hinting that another singer is a part of Yezi’s upcoming music.

It will be the first time for the 22-year-old to release music in eight months since her last hip-hop mini album, “Foresight Dream,” which came out in January of this year.

Yezi debuted as a member of the girl group in 2012 with the album “Vista.” Although the group was not able to garner much attention, Yezi was able to make herself known by appearing on female rap audition program “Unpretty Rap Star 2,” which aired in 2015. Although most were unaware of her at the beginning of the program, the singer-rapper gradually gained popularity for her sexy and charismatic performances.

Meanwhile, Fiestar has dropped numerous songs since their debut, such as “Mr. Black,” “Whoo!,” which featured singer Eric Benet, and “We Don’t Stop.” The group most recently released the single “Apple Pie” in May.
