Samsung global brand value surpasses $50 billion mark

Samsung Electronics’ brand value exceeded 5.6 trillion won ($50 billion) for the first time, ranking in seventh place in a global brand value assessment released by U.S. consulting company Interbrand on Wednesday.

Its brand value rose 14 percent since last year.

Samsung Electronics’ valuation has grown 10 times since 2000, when the company ranked 43rd on the list with $5.2 billion.

Global tech giants Apple and Google were the most valuable brands. Hyundai Motor ranked 35th.
