Historical must-sees

The Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK), a civic organization promoting Korean history and culture online, said Thursday it will distribute 6,000 copies of an English-language map introducing South and North Korea’s historical sites to foreign tourists.

The map contains 26 sites in the South and five in the North.

“More than 15 million foreigners visit the country annually, and most of their visits center on big cities and shopping. So we’ve made the map to promote the country’s splendid 5,000-year history,” VANK head Park Ki-tae said.
