SK Hynix has finished Wuxi DRAM fab line expansion

SK Hynix said Thursday it has completed expansion of its fabrication line in China to step up DRAM production.

The 58,000-square-meter (14.3-acre) facility in Wuxi will start operation in the second quarter, SK Hynix said. The 950 billion won ($837 million) project began in 2017 to expand the Wuxi factory’s production capacity to meet growing demand for DRAMs, which are used in servers and computers. The Wuxi fab currently accounts for about 50 percent of SK Hynix’s DRAM production.
