On May 11, Ottogi hosted the Sweet Home 24th Ottogi Family Cooking Festival at Seoul Land Picnic Hall in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi.

The Ottogi Family Cooking Festival, which has been held for 24 years, is the biggest family cooking festival in Korea. Many families have made precious memories through cooking at the festival.

Marking the 50th anniversary of Ottogi, the special contest was held for culinary students. On the day of the contest, a total of 150 teams, including 100 family members and 50 cooking teams who had passed the preliminary stage, participated in the cooking final contest as well as other meaningful events to share love with neighbors.

In addition, a total of 6 million won ($5,050), which was collected through the event entry fee and Ottogi’s contribution to the event, was delivered to The Korea Heart Foundation to support children with congenital heart disease.

In the meantime, Ottogi invited children with heart disease and their families, who received financial support for surgery through Ottogi’s social contribution activities, and provided activities to give hope and courage to young patients.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-yong’s family won the first prize, known as the Ottogi prize, with a trophy and 5 million won worth of kitchen appliances. In addition, a total of 12 million won worth of appliances were provided for six families.

In the culinary area, Ahn Joo-hyun, a student at Korea Culinary Arts Science High School, was awarded the Grand Prize and a scholarship of 3 million won. Scholarships worth 2 million won and 1 million won were awarded to participants who won the Excellence Prize and Encouragement Prize, respectively. Additionally, the lucky winner was given a 3 million won travel voucher to Hong Kong.

“I hope that the participants can embody a harmonious and bright society through cooking,” said Ottogi official. “We will continue to put a lot of effort into making a bright and healthy society in the future.”
