Kepco’s discount woes

Korea Electric Power Corp. CEO Kim Jong-kap, right, and other board members of the power company hold a meeting on whether to accept the government’s power bill proposal that would temporarily provide discounts to consumers during summer at the company’s art center in Seocho-dong, Gangnam southern Seoul on Friday. The seven board members, however, have decided to postpone the decision, saying additional discussions are needed. The cost of the discount could end up hitting Kepco, worsening its operating loss.
