Singers come together to remember victims of Sewol ferry sinking

Singers will get together today to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the sinking of the Sewol ferry through an online concert to abide by the social distancing guidelines laid out by the government.

According to music label Micro Universe, four of its acts will begin a concert at 4:16 p.m. and livestream the performance via YouTube.

The performance, titled “Spring Flower,” will take place in Jeju, where the ferry was heading.

Singer-songwriter Jo Dong-hee will kick off the performance, followed by band South Carnival and guitarist Denis Sungho Janssens. Singer Seoro will finish the show.

“Spring has come, and flowers have bloomed, but the times have made it hard for people to feel joy,” the label said.

“We would like to bloom a ‘Spring Flower’ into people’s hearts.”
