The three joint CEOs of Samsung Electronics emphasized the importance of following the law in an email sent to employees on Wednesday.
In the statement, the trio of CEOs — Kim Ki-nam, in charge of the semiconductor division, Kim Hyun-suk, in charge of consumer electronics, and Koh Dong-jin, in charge of mobile devices — said that a commitment to complying with rules and regulations should form the basis of all workers’ mindsets.
The leaders also called for the need to address a multitude of challenges including a trade dispute between the United States and China as well as the coronavirus pandemic.
The encouragement came at a critical time, as the company's Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong undergoes a trial in connection with a bribery scandal involving Former President Park Geun-hye.
The tech giant established a court-ordered internal compliance monitoring committee to ensure that all employees follow the law.
