New submarine
Korea's new domestically produced 3,000-ton Jangbogo-III submarine, Ahn Mu, featuring advanced combat and sonar systems, is revealed in a Navy launching ceremony Tuesday at the Okpo Shipyard of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Geoje, South Gyeongsang. The submarine is named after Korean independence fighter Gen. Ahn Mu (1883-1924), who led the independence army and defeated Japanese soldiers in the Bongodong and Cheongsanri battles in northeastern China in 1920. [YONHAP]
