HSBC appoints a new head of global banking

HSBC Korea announced the appointment of a new head of global banking on Monday.  
 
Jonathan Yip, who has been serving as the acting head of global banking since July last year, was confirmed as the head of global banking.  
 
According to the bank, Yip, who joined HSBC in 2008, has worked at the bank’s Hong Kong office as well as in New York and San Francisco, specializing in global technology and media companies.  
 
Yip was relocated to the Korean office in November 2018.  
 
“I am pleased to confirm the appointment of Jonathan to head our Global Banking division, which is core to our business in Korea,” bank president Jung Eun-young said in a statement. “His global experience and creative insight will help our clients find new opportunities in the fast changing world.”
