Models promote 7-Eleven's eco-friendly plastic bags on Wednesday at the convenience store's Yongsan branch in central Seoul. According to 7-Eleven, its plastic bags only take 180 days to decompose in landfills. They will be used in all of its branches across the country starting in mid-July and will cost 100 won (9 cents). 7-Eleven uses some 110 million plastic bags per year. Shifting to the eco-friendly version will reduce carbon emissions by 4,620 tons, according to the convenience store chain. [YONHAP]
