Datebase management company TmaxTibero developed a computer system that prevents traffic accidents.

The company worked with Korea Transportation Safety Authority (Kotsa) and KAIST to develop the system, known as the T-Safer.

The system learns traffic data provided by Kotsa to compile a safety report every month. The report includes analysis about which areas are prone to accidents and the possible causes, such as frequent speeding or tricky lane changing.

It further provides solutions about how to eliminate the risks.

TmaxTibero will work with the Daejeon provincial government to beta test its system in the city through this year.

The city will use the safety report to prevent accidents and TmaxTibero will use traffic data collected during the period to upgrade the algorithm of T-Safer.

“We were able to create a solution that provides accurate analysis by combining the vast amount of traffic data from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and TmaxTibero’s data technology,” said Lee Hee-sang, CEO of TmaxTibero. “We will develop data and AI technology so that the T-Safer can be used nationwide.”
