Son Heung-min picked up two assists as Tottenham Hotspur romped to a 3-2 win over Manchester City that has blown open the title race at the top of the Premier League table.

While Son set up two of Spurs' three goals, the match was really all about his long-time playmaking partner Harry Kane. The England captain put on a blistering performance at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, scoring two of the London club's three goals.

Spurs' first goal came in just the fourth minute, when Son raced up the pitch with the ball, slotting it to Dejan Kulusevski who hammered it home to take the score to 1-0. Tottenham were unable to capitalize on that early lead, however, and City tied the score at 1-1 before the end of the first half.

The second half started much the same as the first, with Son finding space on the wing in the 59th minute to deliver a cross to Kane in the box, who timed his shot perfectly to hammer the ball into the back of the net. A second Kane goal a few minutes later was canceled out after a VAR review, and disaster struck for Spurs in injury time when City were able to equalize with a late penalty.

With moments left in the game, Kane once again came through to put Spurs ahead with a goal headed home five minutes into injury time. The last-gasp goal gave Tottenham the 3-2 win, making them one of the only clubs ever to complete a league double against a side managed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

As of press time, the win allowed Spurs to jump back over Wolverhampton Wanderers into seventh place on the Premier League table, although with Wolves still to play on Sunday evening that move could still be reversed. Man City's lead at the top of the table has also shrunk to six points over Liverpool, who still have one game in hand.

Spurs will be back on the pitch on Wednesday for a Premier League match against Burnley. Saturday's win snapped a three-game losing streak for the London club and manager Antonio Conte will be keen to build on that momentum going into a pair of games against lower-ranked teams. After Burnley, Spurs face Leeds United.
